RIM’s Blackberry BlackPad Tablet Coming In November, Probably

Posted on 31. Jul, 2010 by Jaimie in Tablets

Sources inside of RIM are saying the company is planning to take their secret BlackPad tablet to market in November right before the holiday shopping season. The sources do come from inside RIM so we can look at them favorably. Also releasing their Blackberry counter to the Apple iPad before the holiday shopping season is a good idea.

That BlackPad looks like it will be the name for the 9.7-inch tablet but that is really all that is certain about this tablet. For instance the OS that the first ever Blackberry tablet will run is still very much up in the air. It could run the upcoming Blackberry 6 OS or it could be an Android device but that is only a pipe-dream. We shall see in coming months if more details for the BlackPad do leak.

BlackBerry 6 isn’t an all new operating system but rather an major overhaul in a long line of upgrades to the BlackBerry device software after a decade or so.
