RIM’s BlackPad Tablet Coming In November For $499, Say’s Rumor-mill

More RIM tablet rumors have come about today claiming that Quanta Computer has won the contract to manufacture the ‘BlackPad‘ and will start delivering the mobile device as of next month to build up stocks for the expected November launch.

Quanta is said to be making 2 million BlackPad’s this year, with 8 more million being scheduled for 2011. The upcoming tablet is reported to feature a 9.7-inch touchscreen (not 7-inch as previously rumored), and include a 1 GHz Marvell processor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 3G support via Blackberry, plus two cameras (front and rear). The BlackPad is also said to cost $499, same as the cheapest iPad.
