HP’s Executive VP Todd Bradley after an HP Q3 conference gave up the goods on the companies tablet plans for the near future. The VP said that HP will be coming out first with the Windows 7 enterprise tablet later this year and they will release a WebOS tablet early 2011.
Rumors have been circulating for months about HP’s tablet plans for the future and almost everything is coming to fruition now. The HP enterprise tablet known as the HP Slate 500 will be the Windows 7 tablet HP will be releasing later this year. However as you know the HP Slate 500 won’t be a general public released product. As for the WebOS tablet that one will be for everybody and it’s rumored name is Hurricane, kind of a weird name isn’t it. The commercials and advertising for the “Hurricane” should be very predictable.
With all this new information it’s good to sit back and look at what we know now about HP’s tablet endeavors. As of now we can assess that HP is spreading the love around when it comes to OS’s. HP will be also offering a companion tablet device for a printer known as the HP eStation Zeen and it will run Android 2.1 OS. HP will probably make more WebOS tablets than any of the other upcoming tablets but that’s too be expected.
HP’s WebOS tablet is probably in a tie with the Notion Ink Adam tablet with buzz right now in the tech world. We’ll see what happens though in coming months, hopefully some specifications leak for the WebOS slate.
