The Apple iPad is the spotlight product of the entire tablet world. It’s the bar of what a tablet should be for some. The iPad is… well kind of an annoying product. Every tablet that comes up the first thing everyone asks is “Is it better than the iPad?”. I and many are growing pretty weary of the iPad. Now some predictions for sales from iSuppli have come out claiming the sales trend for the iPad will continue to stay up all the way until 2012…when the world ends ;) .

The only hope the rest of the industry has at knocking the iPad from it’s current position is the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Tab is the only tablet that is actually real and is actually about to be released. The Notion Ink Adam tablet should be in the Galaxy Tab’s position but Notion Ink is moving very very slowly in their preparation of the Adam. The offering’s from RIM (Blackberry), Toshiba and HP just aren’t real yet, we need more info leaks and a teaser video. The already outed offerings from MSI and ASUS just aren’t that exciting and really don’t stand to much of a chance of moving units anywhere near the magnitude of the iPad.

The Galaxy is the only tablet right now with buzz, thanks mainly to the teaser video released the other day. The Galaxy is the only hope as of now but things could really change at IFA 2010 in Berlin. At IFA anybody could come out of the woodwork and surprise us all.

Apple , as usual totally reinvented the wheel, making it usable. I don’t like certain things of the iPad but I don’t get why it is annoying.

I find more annoying to see that android device may not be compatible with android software. It all depends on the manufacturer and the hacking abilities of the user.

Also it is annoying to see how most android manufacturers seem to focus on pointless 16:9 screens.

If I used windows or macs i would probably get a iPad straight away. Apple seems to understand what the people will be happy with instead of following stupid thrills.

A pity that the ipad does not work well with Linux

I like the Asus EP121 tablet. It’s one of the nicest computers I’ve ever seen. It looks like a razer thin Macbook Pro. The dock station turns it into a full laptop. It has a powerful CULV processor and promises 10 hours of battery life. Best thing of all it’s running a real OS that you can actually be productive on.

Looking at the specs of the galaxy, I’d say that the adam tablet is the only thing that will clean the ipad’s clock. Not to mention that the adam tablet can run ubuntu, which makes it a full featured computer with access to the android market and ubuntu repositories.

    The world divides into 2
    - people who want something slick, elegant, simple to use, “fashionable” and don’t care how it is all done – buy iPad.
    - people who want (an impression of) freedom of choice, who care somewhat about what is inside – buy anything except iPad

    No

Because there are so many there great choice in the same market that are cheaper and have more features Notation ink Adam for example has longer battery life, front facing camera, flash, USB, HDMI, replaceable batteries, expandable storage, via sd card, Back side trackpad and a faster GPU (you can play unreal 3 on it) and that is the base model I think anyone wold have to be nuts to go with the apple Iworthless

forget the specs….after trying both the samsung and toshiba tablets running android there really is no comparison with regard to the optical clarity and snappyness of the ipad.
