LG Officials Speak On A Looming 8.9-inch Android Honeycomb Tablet

LG Electronics Google Android TabletAn official for LG Electronics has spilled some of the beans on the Korean companies upcoming Android tablet. The tablet according to the official will likely be named LG Pad and will feature an 8.9-inch touchscreen display. The official states the LG Pad will be coming in the first quarter of 2011.

The LG Pad tablet will not run any of the existing version of Google Android. The LG official say’s the LG Pad will run the yet to be released but supposedly Tablet OS Android Honeycomb. The OS is expected to be launched around the same time as the LG Pad.

Another thing the divulged in the interview is the presence of the Nvidia Tegra 2 SoC within the LG Pad. The tablet has been in the works for the better part of this year. An LG official says the tablet will offer “more diverse contents based on powerful functions”. [Via]
