Mobile World Congress 2011In just a few more days in Barcelona, Spain Mobile World Congress 2011 will be kicking off. At this years MWC event there will be new super phones with dual-core processors and new Android tablets all on display. Right now we can confirm that LG and Samsung will be showing off some new Android tablets.

Samsung’s tablet will be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and it will be unveiled at a Samsung press event just before MWC on February 13. Late last month we came into Samsung’s press schedule for that day. The new Galaxy Tab 2 is expected to feature a dual-core processor –original Galaxy Tab had a single core Hummingbird processor– and version of Android OS. Some believe Samsung might give the new Tab a Super AMOLED display.

LG’s tablet will be the LG Optimus Pad, basically the same tablet as the LG G-Slate but it will only be available in Europe. The Optimus Pad’s main features include  Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS, an 8.9-inch 3D display (needs glasses), three cameras (front facing and dual rear facing cameras for capturing 3D images and video) and the Nvidia Tegra 2 SoC processor.

Mobile World Congress 2011 will be kicking off officially on February 14 and will end on February 17.

Galaxy Tab 2 looks very similar to the Motorola Xoom. Looking forward to seeing how the 3D works on the Optimus Pad.
