No SD Card Reader or Higher Resolution Display For Apple iPad 2, Say Insiders

Apple will be holding an event on March 2nd to usher in what is believed to be the second generation iPad, Apple iPad 2. However some new “insider” info could have just rained on Apple’s parade before it even kicks-off.
An unnamed source who spoke with Engadget and states the new iPad will not have an SD card built-in and no super-high resolution display will be present like rumors had been suggesting for these past few months. Some unspecified “engineering issues” are to be blamed for the lack of both features in this iPad, according to the source. The source by Engadget’s own record keeping hasn’t been wrong before about features claimed to be in unreleased Apple products.
At the moment Engadget along with many popular outlets have toned down their expectations for the new iPad. Most are expecting a new thinner and lighter profile, a new faster SoC to replace Apple A4, a boost in RAM to at least 512MB from the current 256MB and a front-facing camera for video-calls. [Via]
