BlackBerry PlayBook 7-inch Tablet Listed For Pre-Order At $599

The upcoming 7-inch BlackBerry PlayBook from RIM has been added to mobilecityonline.com for pre-order. From the screen shot above of a portion of the PlayBook’s product page you can see they don’t have a release date for the tablet. However they do feel it will cost $899.99 and they have gone ahead and given anyone that pre-orders a discount of $300 to $599.99 and they have free shipping for any pre-ordered tablets.
In the past we have shown you a screenshot of the product page on Office Depot’s webstore that showed the 16GB Wi-Fi only model of the PlayBook priced at $499.99 with an in-store launch time of Week 17. That Office Depot page is long gone (for now) but this new product page appears to have the same 16GB Wi-Fi only model listed too from the looks of the product description.
A firm retail price for the BlackBerry PlayBook is a crucial bit if info that has been missing from any scene where RIM has brought out the tablet. The PlayBook was announced by RIM late last year with full details on features but no solid price or release date was announced then or since then by RIM.

$599>? i hope that goes down or this is a FAIL. I want a playbook but not at that price.

399 for 16gb will be reasonable and competitive.
