BlackBerry PlayBook FCCThe long awaited and much anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook has made it’s way to the FCC here in the US for official approval. The 7-inch tablet is Research In Motion’s (RIM) first tablet ever and according to FCC documents they will be launching the tablet in three capacities 16GB, 32GB and 64GB all Wi-Fi only.

Digital documents from the official submission for the three PlayBook’s sent this time around to the FCC that the there is no mobile broadband connectivity. The tablets have just straight Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies inside of them.

This isn’t final though RIM could just be getting launching Wi-Fi only models first due to not needing to deal with to many outside variables to get the product to market. Also Wi-Fi only tablets are usually quite affordable and RIM if they want high adoption will really have to offer some sweet pricing for the PlayBook.

Previously RIM’s own co-CEO Jim Basille has said the companies first tablet will be in the sub-$500 range. Previously leaked documents have shown that the tablet would be priced at $499 for a 16GB Wi-Fi only model through popular office supply store Office Depot.

Right now the launch date is looking to be around April. An internal training document for another popular office supply store, Staples, show that employee training for the PlayBook will start on March 30th. Also even before that Staples document the Office Depot leak showed the tablet as coming to physical stores on Week 17 of this year and that would mean the week of April 25, 2011 to May 1, 2011.
