Creative ZiiO 7″ and 10″ Tablets Android 2.2 Froyo Update Coming, See When
Posted on 21. Mar, 2011 by Jaimie in Tablets
The multimedia focused Creative ZiiO 7″ and 10″ Android tablets that launched a little while ago are about to get updated to Android 2.2 Froyo. Currently if you are an owner of either the two Creative ZiiO tablets you should know that you are running Android 2.1 Eclair operating system.
According to the recent press release let loose by Creative the new update to Android 2.2 will happen March 25, 2011 for the 7″ Creative ZiiO tablet. As for the owners of the 10″ ZiiO tablet you will have to wait until April to get your update to Android 2.2.
Creative does not that their updates will be available to you for free download straight from their support site support.creative.com and you will also be able to download the update from the ZiiO Space portal that is already installed on your tablet.
If you are wondering what benefits will come from you updating your ZiiO tablet to Android 2.2 Creative has prepared a list of improvements/changes you will see. See the list below….
- Flexibility to install apps using either on-board memory or external storage media
- Flexibility of viewing pages in both desktop and mobile formats – which means that pages can now be seen in their original lay-out without truncation
- Improved security with the addition of numeric pin or alpha-numeric password options to unlock device
- Greater localised language support added
- Text-to-Speech Engine
Hopefully that list of fixes and additions is enough to have you convinced of the importance of this Android 2.2 update. Here’s to hoping things go over well with the OTA update for the 7″ and nothing bad like delays happen with the OTA update for the 10″ model.
