Thinnest Tablets: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 (Redesign) Unveiled; Update Prices Start At $469
Posted on 22. Mar, 2011 by Jaimie in Tablets
Samsung looks to have redesigned the Galaxy Tab 10.1 to match their brand new Galaxy Tab 8.9. The two new Galaxy Tab tablets have just been announced by Samsung at CTIA but when you read the official press release no specifics on price or release dates are present at the moment.
For now Samsung is only boosting about the new very thin designs implored on the 8.9 and 10.1, in fact both are thinner –if you can believe it– than the recently launched Apple iPad 2. Samsung quotes thinness for the 8.9 and 10.1 as being 8.6mm ‘the worlds thinnest tablets’ in comparison the iPad 2 is 8.8mm thin. Below you can check out the full detailed specifications for both upcoming tablets but before you do that check out this gallery of photos.
Update: Announced just minutes ago by Samsung is the pricing for both models. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 will launch in June in Wi-Fi only for $469 (16GB) and $569 (32GB), the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will also launch in June with Wi-Fi only but it will go for $499 (16GB) and $599 (32GB).

If you got the 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab and added a 16GB MicroSD card, would it be the same as the 32GB Tablet?
My thought is that if the 32GB model usues the 32GB for memory, it should be fater if the MicroSD card is just used as adittional storage space. Please advise.
