Apple iPad 2 Real Racing HD 2A new report issued today by Digitimes asserts that Apple suppliers have shipped between 2.4 million to 2.6 million iPad 2′s in March to Apple. The report also went on to say that Apple is expected to take delivery on around 4 million iPad 2′s each month going forward with a result of over 12 million units for the second quarter of 2011.

Apple iPad 2 line US mallThe Apple iPad 2 was launched into availability on March 11th for US consumers and on March 25th for 25 international locations started offering the newest iPad tablet. With that said the iPad was available in March for 20 days in the US and 6 days internationally.

If we were to convert all the shipments for the month of March into direct sales Apple would have bested their own first month sales records for iPad’s by more than double. We could comfortably convert shipments to sales due to the out of stock notices and delivery delays that have been taking place for iPad 2.

Apple iPad 2 line EuropeBack in 2010 when Apple launched iPad 1 the tablet sold over one million units in its first month being available. It took Apple 28 days to reach that one million figure, if the new data presented today proves accurate and represents unit sold as well then Apple has beaten the iPad 1′s record in a shorter time span and by double the total units.

However those are a lot of assumptions, Apple is scheduled to offer up their official earnings numbers  for the first quarter a little later this month. At that earnings call Apple is expected to announce the first month sales numbers for the iPad 2.

This is BS. You buy one anywhere. I would believe a figure of 200,000 only.

Although Apple openly admits that functionality is their biggest edge over other tablets, they should still try to improve their shortcomings. I hope they will not become too complacent because Android tablets are fast catching up. There is a prediction that by 1st Quarter of 2012, Apple will lose its lead. Let’s just see if Apple will allow this to happen.
