Dell Sends First Wi-Fi Only 7-inch Android Tablet To The UK, Worth A Look?

Remember the 7-inch Dell Streak 7 Android tablet? Well that Android tablet, the second one from Dell, has made its maiden voyage to the United Kingdom in a Wi-Fi only option.
The price for the Wi-Fi only Dell Streak 7 with Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and Android 2.2 Froyo? That is £299 and the model can be ordered right now on the UK version of Dell’s online store.
The Streak 7 comes in at a low price, as compared to other Android or iOS tablets already selling in the UK. But what are you going to have to sacrifice by getting the Streak 7 that you wouldn’t on other tablets be they from Android or Apple’s iOS?
Well for one the battery life isn’t too hot on the Streak 7 which has a non-removable battery, around 3 to 4 hours is the norm. for the tablet. Also you won’t be getting the best quality screen with the Streak 7 either, most have blasted the 7-inch WVGA (800×480) for being too low res. and having very poor viewing angles and brightness.
Lastly but also quite importantly if you want an up-to-date Android tablet, Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS isn’t going to be coming to the Streak 7 –Android 3.0 Honeycomb is the first Android OS that was designed specifically for tablet use, unlike Android 2.2 which runs on the Streak 7.
So really if you are considering the 7-inch form-factor for your tablet desires, the Dell Streak 7 should be off your radar if you find the previously described features unpleasant.
