HTC Flyer Wi-Fi Only US Pricing Unveiled, Pre-Order Date Announced

HTC Flyer and Scribe stylusComing this Spring from popular Android smart phone maker HTC is a sleek new tablet. The uni-body HTC Flyer 7-inch tablet will be shipping very soon in the US with the option for Wi-Fi only and 3G/4G too.

In anticipation for their exclusive launch for the Wi-Fi only HTC Flyer Best Buy has announced pricing and when customers can place pre-orders.

HTC Flyer at Best BuyThe Flyer will set you back $499 if you want the carrier-free Wi-Fi only model that Best Buy will offer. You can start placing pre-orders for the tablet on April 25th, 2011. The ‘Big Blue Box’ states they will be offering pre-orders for the tablet at regular Best Buy shops as well as Best Buy Mobile shops.

If you are interested in getting the 7-inch Flyer with a mobile broadband connection like 3G or 4G, options should be coming soon. Right now Sprint has announced they will carry the HTC EVO View 4G, a Black colored HTC Flyer, soon. The Sprint variation hasn’t been priced but subsidized pricing should be expected as the other tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7, is currently being offered for the low subsidized price of $200.

For now you can learn about all the technical features for this tablet below. Keep in mind that HTC will be releasing an update to Android 3.0 Honeycomb with the Sense UI customizations ASAP.

    This is unfortunate. If they matched the wifi galaxy tab price, at 349 or even 400, I think this tablet could kill. But it’s just too hard to justify paying the same price as a full sized iPad for this. Even with the stylus, which I regard as the only real innovation in the tablet market since the iPad debut, I cannot justify this price. This is the android tab that excites me most, but unfortunately I won’t be buying it at this price!

    Best Buy doesn’t mention a stylus on their HTC Flyer pre-order site. If the stylus doesn’t come included, I am cancelling my order
