Dell is going to jump into the Windows 7 slate business soon, that much has already been confirmed by Dell. But could that first slate-style tablet PC really offer up to 8 hours of battery life as the Dell Latitude ST is said to offer? New reports assert just that about the October-bound Dell Latitude ST tablet PC.
It could be. The newly discovered Dell Latitude ST tablet PC with all of its features sounds like the business and enterprise designed device Dell was informing us of back in February.
The Latitude ST according to a leaked roadmap offers some progressive hardware. A 10-inch HD (1366×768) touch LCD with active pen support, a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom Z670 (Oak Trail) processor, 2GB RAM, an SSD (up to 128GB), integrated GPS, Accelerometer, Full HD 1080p output (via HDMI), dual cameras (front; 1.3MP; back: 3MP) and of course Windows 7.
Now those features aren’t too shabby and the up to 8 hours battery life will be definitely be a nice ability. However the current reports haven’t been substantiated by Dell via a company press release but that should come in due time if the device is really coming to market in October 2011.
Although going by previous info the tablet PC has a high likelihood of launching in October, Forbes reported before that Dell had shifted launch for the companies first 10-inch Windows 7 slate to Fall of this year.
