Sony S1 and S2 tabletsJust a shade under two months ago Sony unveiled their S1 and S2 Google Android Honeycomb tablets. During the unveiling a company representative stated the Sony S1 and S2 tablets will launch in the Fall, no specific months were mentioned. However a new Engadget report might have blown the covers off the unspoken release date.

Engadget is reporting that they have received a Sony marking memo that states a Sony tablet will be made available for pre-order in August of this year but it would launch near the end of September. In their report Engadget isn’t sure whether the memo refers to Sony’s S1 or S2 tablet but they are certain that those release months are for Europe.

Sony said that the two tablets would launch in the Fall, September is the first month of Fall. The new information makes September look more and more interesting this year. Remember that Sony still hasn’t unveiled how they plan to price the 9.4-inch S1 tablet or the dual 5.5-inch S2 tablet either. Sony should announce prices and launch dates when the put the tablets up for pre-order, hopefully in August.
