HP webOS logoAccording to some confidential webOS roadmap’s (see below) obtained by Pre Central the HP TouchPad will gain new models this August. One of the new models will come in the previously rumored Glossy White and the other new model will be Glossy Black.

For the Glossy White model the roadmap indicates that a new speedier processor will be added along with 64GB of built-in storage. Currently the Glossy Black HP TouchPads that are available come with 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 dual-core processors and max. 32GB of built-in storage. Pre Central hypothesizes that the new processor might be a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor.

As for the new Glossy Black model the roadmap indicates that HP will be adding 4G mobile broadband but not just any old 4G AT&T’s HSPA+. The new Glossy Black 4G models will share the same SKU as the current 32GB Wi-Fi model.

Having a tablet get changed so quickly is something no other major tablet maker has done so far, with a tablet that’s already released. But I’m not complaining a faster HP TouchPad that comes in Glossy White and with 64GB of storage is a good thing.
