Panasonic’s New Toughbook CF-H2 Tablet PC Hopes To Please Enterprise Customers

Panasonic Toughbook CF-H2 Rugged Slate Tablet PCIf you’re in the market for a new Windows 7 slate that’s rugged and built for work, listen up. The latest Panasonic Toughbook rugged slate has been unveiled, the 10.1-inch Panasonic Toughbook CF-H2. The H2 is the follow-up product to the H1 from 2010, basically if you liked the Toughbook CF-H1 then you’ll really be able to appreciate the new improved H2.

The new H2 offers up a sunlight readable dual in-put (finger or stylus) touchscreen LCD that features a special technology that can soak-in sunlight to help make the display even easier to read in the sunlight. In the ruggedness department the new H2 is drop resistant for 6 ft., dust and spray water resistant, and it can work in below zero or 130+ degree weather.

As for inside the H2 there is a 2nd gen. 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor with Intel vPro technology, Up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 32oGB HDD or 128GB SSD, and two batteries that can combine to produce up to 6 hours of battery life. The system runs on Windows 7 Professional as well.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-H2 frontThe H2′s batteries are designed to be hot-swappable and you only need one of the two batteries installed to use the tablet PC. With that functionality you can be charging one of the two batteries while you continue doing your work. According to Panasonic the new batteries in the H2 can charge up to 45% quicker than the batteries in the previous H1.

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-H2 starts at $3,449 and the start weight is 3.5lbs for the device.
