Coming up in just a few days is the IFA 2011 tech convention in Berlin, Germany where companies like ViewSonic will show-off some new and unreleased tablets.

Ahead of IFA 2011 ViewSonic has confirmed the products they will have at the show, the only new tablet coming to this years IFA is the ViewSonic ViewPad 7e. The new ViewPad 7e is going to be a sub-$300 tablet that will launch later this year in Q4 with a retail price of €169 (about $249 USD).

According to ViewSonic’s description of the ViewPad 7e it’s going to be a no-frills tablet with just the bog-standard features you’ve come to expect from ViewSonic’s Android tablets. In the way of features the ViewPad 7e will offer a 7-inch multi-touch 4:3 (aspect ratio) display, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, HDMI output, and the free Amazon Kindle application is pre-installed. That’s all that ViewSonic is giving away at this time. –However a front-facing camera is visible in the single photo released for the ViewPad 7e.

In the way of competition the new ViewPad 7e won’t be facing too many challengers at its low-price. However older offerings from Archos should give ViewSonic a challenge, that is if ViewSonic doesn’t include Android 3.x Honeycomb with their new budget tablet, low-cost tablets from Archos run Android 2.x OS’ and Honeycomb would set the ViewPad 7e apart from the pack.

Although I do believe that ViewSonic will announce Android 2.2 Froyo or Gingerbread with their new tablet, the photo above shows a version of Android that isn’t Honeycomb related. ViewSonic currently offers only one 7-inch tablet for their ViewPad line, the ViewPad 7, and it runs Google’s old Android 2.2 Froyo OS. ViewSonic is supposed to launch the ViewPad 7x this September and it was announced with Android 3.x Honeycomb as it’s destined OS, but that tablet is yet to have been released.
