Released back in 2010 the Samsung Galaxy Tab was the first tablet that Samsung had ever released with the Android operating system, but it hasn’t been the last.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi edition didn’t come until later in 2011, initial Galaxy Tab’s were 3G+Wi-Fi and they were pretty costly off-contract, but when it did come a $349.99 price tag came with. The $350 cost was much more attractive for than the $500+ one had to pay for a no-contract 3G model. However right now you don’t even need to pay the $350 price for the Wi-Fi only tablet, Amazon has the Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi on sale for $279.99.
The price drop does bring the tablet in-league with new competitors for the 7-inch market that had tablets with better specs. at around the same $370 price. It’s not clear if this price drop will last forever –I wouldn’t count on it– so if you have been in need of a competent 7-inch Android tablet the $279.99 Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi should be given a look.
