Compared to the first tablet launched under the Impression family the new Impression 7 has lower-end technical specifications. Some of the inadequacies of the Impression 7 versus the Impress 10 are due to size limitations (7-inch vs. 9.7-inch frames), but others shortcomings are due to Leader International Inc. having to cut expensive hardware to meet their pricing goals.
Your other sub-$200 7-inch Android option for the Holidays
We just published a story about the upcoming ViewSonic ViewPad 7e tablet before talking about the Impression 7, and coincidentally the two tablets are going to be competitors. Compared the two tablets feature the same screen resolution (800-by-480 pixels), both have 1GHz ARM processors, both have 512MB of RAM, both have USB and microSD connectors and both run Android 2.x operating systems.
The ViewSonic is coming to market this month for $199.99 MSRP and for the extra $20.99 you get the following over the Impression 7 tablet; micro-HDMI out, a 3MP rear camera with Autofocus, and the most up-to-date version of Android 2.x with 2.3 Gingerbread.
