ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime launching this November with Honeycomb?
Posted on 31. Oct, 2011 by TabletMan in Tablets
The official unveil for the new Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet isn’t expected to happen until November 9th, but the OS the Android tablet will launch with has all but been confirmed by Asus Germany. In a Facebook photos update the Asus Germany staff have revealed that the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgradable, that clarification means the Prime tablet will launch with Android 3.x Honeycomb.
Currently Google hasn’t released Android 4.0, so no Android tablets have been able to get the new OS update just yet. The Android 3.x Honeycomb operating system is still good and it’s readily availabel for a manufacturer like Asus to release with a new tablet such as the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Currently Google has released Android 3.2 Honeycomb as the latest version of Honeycomb for tablets.
With confirmation the Prime won’t launch with Android 4.0 installed there is a serious chance that Asus plans to release the new Transformer tablet real soon, most likely before November is over. That possibility should help all of you Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime fans happy.
For further confirmation that the Transformer Prime will be launching in November here is a leaked Asus document scrounged up by Slashgear:
In-case you missed it a few days ago there were some leaked images of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime and it’s docking posted here and around the web. Check out the leaked images here.

Sorry to see the ASUS Prime tab will NOT have Android 4.0 on board for the launch. That is a huge disappointment which will delay my purchase of the device. Initial deliveries will be saddled with the Honeycomb 3.1 version which is certainly not the ICS expected by so many. I hope they proce this product right @ $499 for the duo.
