$120 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet now available
Posted on 23. Dec, 2011 by Albert Madison in Tablets
If you can remember back to earlier this month we posted about a company by the name of MIPS Technologies who introduced what is the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream tablet. The company assured their tablet would retail for $99.00 and it would be named Ainol Novo7.
Now fast forward to today and the company has retailers online listing their cheap Android 4.0 tablet under the name Ainol Novo7 Paladin with prices sitting at $119.00 from most and at just $89.99 from one online retailer (all prices don’t factor shipping and handling). Each retailer says that if you order the tablet through them now it will be shipped between January 1st or 5th, 2012.

Your options for purchasing the Ainol tablet online at this time are limited to Android-Sale ($89), Merimobiles ($119), and Panadawill ($119) only. Each of those sources seem to be based out of China and they will be using Air mail to get orders to most of the world –Air mail will require you wait at least 20 or more days to get your package if you use standard shipping and not expedited shipping which is expensive.
How good is this tablet?
The Ainol Novo7 Paladin tablet hasn’t been reviewed fully by anyone, but a few hands-on videos are available on YouTube from Chinese retailers who are trying to showcase the tablet for potential buyers. In the videos I’ve seen the tablet seems to work well enough with Android 4.0, remember that this tablet ships without your standard ARM processor it users a MIPS processor that’s clocked at 1.0 GHz. Battery life, specific application performance, build quality are a mystery at this time since the demo videos don’t cover any of those things.
Here is a silent demo video from Android-Sale (retailer mentioned above) that they posted on their YouTube account:
