Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 White in handApple set the trend for extremely thin and stylish consumer tablets in early 2011 with their 9.7-inch Apple iPad 2. Soon after the iPad 2 was revealed and launched in the month of March Apple’s competitors got cracking on thin tablets of their own. Most of major manufacturers involved in tablets during 2011 had thin tablets available before the end of 2011.

However it can’t be said that all of Apple’s competitors followed their lead and launched thin tablets, some stuck to thicker designs that offered consumers access to things like full-sized I/O ports which the iPad 2 and other thin tablets lacked, Fujitsu was such a company. Fujitsu released only one Android tablet during 2011 and that one model was thicker than the iPad 2 and it was also available for purchase only in Japan.

But that was all stuff that occurred in 2011, going into 2012 Fujitsu does seem to have at least one ultra-thin Android tablet on their roadmap. The Fujitsu Stylistic M532 tablet has been spotted in Europe.

According to website Techfokus of Germany the M532 tablet from Fujitsu is going to be released at some point in Germany for 499 euros. The website didn’t mention any release dates or if Fujitsu planned to bring the M532 to the U.S. market in 2012. But Techfokus did take note of some hardware and software specifications in their report on the M532 tablet, see the specs. they noted below.

  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 10-inch HD (1280×800) touchscreen
  • NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor
  • 16GB of built-in storage (no mention of any higher capacity models, but for 499 euro 16GB is a competitive offering)
  • MicroSD card for expansion up to 32GB
  • SIM card slot
  • Mini USB
  • 3MP front camera, 8MP rear camera
