If you’re in search of a moderately priced Windows tablet PC the newly discounted Acer Iconia Tab W500-BZ467 might be what you need. The Acer tablet PC is being offered by online retailer ExcaliberPC for $504.00, down from the $569.00 MSRP the W500 launched with earlier this year.

What makes the W500 from Acer a stand-out Windows 7 tablet PC is the devices ability to work like the popular Asus Eee Pad Transformer Android tablet. The W500 come with a highly functional keyboard dock at the $504 price. The W500′s keyboard dock doesn’t offer extra battery power but it does offer a QWERTY keyboard, a USB 2.0 port, and a TrackPoint-like pointer (Acer FineTrack) with dedicated left/right mouse buttons.

In review the W500 has faced criticism on it’s 1.0GHz AMD Dual-Core C-50 APUs processing power and the 32GB’s of SSD storage has also been cause for complaint (even though you have an SD card reader for expansion).
