The tablet started out as a stylus input only computer years ago, but now with the advent of capacitive touchscreens and good digitizers finger and stylus input can be offered in one product. Samsung is planning on delivering a new Android based tablet with capacitive multi-touch and digitizer based stylus input later this month.
The new tablet will be aptly named Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, the Note implies stylus input support and the 10.1 is for the tablets screen size (10.1-inches measured diagonally).
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 was introduced for the first time at Mobile World Congress 2012, which took place in Barcelona, Spain earlier this year. The tablet that was unveiled then featured a 1.4GHz quad-core ARM processor, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and a 10.1-inch 1280×800 resolution capacitive touchscreen with a digitizer and Samsung’s own S Pen.
Samsung announced today they will offer the Galaxy Note 10.1 in two main colors Black and White. Available configurations for consumers will include 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+mobile broadband configurations. Pricing for all the regions Samsung will launch the tablet in haven’t been announced at this time.
However even without an official price for the U.S. Samsung was able to confirm today that anyone interested in the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be able to find it in stores for sale this month. Samsung says that consumers will only have Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+3G models available for order this month, the Wi-Fi+4G models will be ready later this year.
